Denton Town 8 v Hough End 4 (u11's)

I havn't posted a blog on here before as i couldn't log on , so instead of my dad writing one i thought i'd have a bash instead!

Ok, everyone knows that Hough End are one of the toughest teams in the league, and they always seem up for it, possibly because you girls are the only team they know they will have trouble with. Although today seemed like a game that didn't even bother us, i know Allen( my dad) said that its the first time he's seen the girls play them where he felt comfortable, and rightly so. All the girls had a good game, in the first ten minutes we snapped up a goal with some great play by Gabby ( as always!), with some help from the midfield, and with a goal under our belt we looked comfortable.
On many occasions we (supporters... yes you deserve to go in red to considering your a very important part of the club :) thought that the referee was a bit harsh on his decision to give a penatly after Georgia just managed to get infront of the ball, and the score changed to 1-1 with the girls knowing that they could easily pull it back, and they did in less than a monute from the kick off! Some great play by Sarah meant that Gabby could slot it in the net yet again, with the girls looking towards a cofortable Victory. Some great goals by Sarah and Gabby again meant that we were 4-1 up, although later a great save from Ikea on the line wasn't quite enough to sway the referees decision and the goal was given, meaning it went to 4-2.
Throughout the first half the girls worked really hard, with Emily and Rebecca Smith controlling the defence and clearing the ball when needed, Emily has been fantastic at the back all season, and can read the game better than anyone i know in that league, so having her on the pitch helping the girls out came as a real boost, well done Emily. Then came Sally (the engine!) she didn't stop going (even with a swollen Knee!) keeping Hough Ends key players at bay. The midfielders Georgia, Kendal, Sarah, and Little Becks battled throughout, with the most improvement being little becks, everyone agreed that she had a cracking game the other week, which continued today with her beating someone off the ball twice her size!
When the full time whistle was blown the score ended up Denton Town 8, Hough End 4, which means that The girls Nikia, Emily, Becks, Sally, Georgia, Sarah, Kendal, Little Becks, Gabby and Molly who couldn't quite make it for todays game became:

South Manchester Girls Football League U11's Champions!!!

A credit to you all girls, well done, and to your parents who stand there in the freezing cold rain cheering you on, you deserve it!

KATE.
