Denton town 2 Poynton 0 (u14's)

AMAZING WONDERFUL AWESOME FANTASTIC OUT OF THIS WORLD. I could go on but the most important word of all today and this season is,and I speak for all, me, Tim and Nige and also I'm sure your parents "" PROUD "" . (I think what Alan is trying to say is, that he was fairly happy with yesterday's result lol - Nige). I first came down with Chloe 5 years ago and but for a couple of players you are all still playing and wow does it show We played a very good organised side today again and without being rude to Poynton I thought we controlled the game. All of you listened to our pre match talk and instructions and then went on and did your jobs spot on and, the result speaks for itself. We cannot lose the title now, we have to now go to Deans and get a result to make our season complete, the Final and Semi-Final to me girls are a nice day out and a bonus and of course we would love to win but, the league is the main priority, it always is, it shows that over a season you are the best team and I think this season has been the toughest season by far because, all the teams we have played against have been so well organised and played their part in making this league really enjoyable to be involved in. Next year will be even more difficult because all the teams have improved so much and I'm sure will do so again so, we will have to be even better next year of which, I'm sure we will be with a lot more hard work. We also have class new players re-joining us next year to make the squad even better Becks , Georgia and Chloe B all who have had a miserable football year with injuries but, must be so pleased that their team mates have gone on and covered their matches for them and, given them another champs medal. Today, I couldnt have asked for more from you, you were exceptional. Poynton have had a super season and yesterday understanably were gutted at the end of a game they also needed to win. We have been in your position before Poynton, and we know its a horrible feeling but, please take positives out of your season, your team has a very bright future and will be involved again next year for the league. We wish you luck to in your last games and we could yet play again in the League Cup Final. We have a very tough game against Urmston, who are the only team to beat us this year so, we will see on that one. Keely who apparently can't play middle (that's not from Keels by the way, Gav its from someone else), played brill again; great strength and touches and what a goal at the end of your run wow. Ruby super Rubes today, and if only that header would of gone in you could of been the headed goal of the year lol (forgot about that in my report, well remembered Al, Nige). Great technique Rubes, just want one more game like that off you plz. Lauren, you played super today Lauren, your best game for me. You did just as I asked and I didn't have to tie you to the middle. Sally, Nic and Kay what can I say, you were on your game. Three of you at the back and it looked like 4. Megan where you get that energy from its amazing, your like a machine up and down and that running got you in the right place to stroke the ball home and for me, put the game a little too far for Poynton at that stage. Sophie, your coming on leaps and vounds. Sophie you have a wonderful left foot, you cross the ball over spot on all the time, just keep working hard and stop kicking your self m8, yeh you are doing great. Yoyo , Yoyo , Yoyo, you in my opinion are the best finisher I have seen in girls football, you have so much natural ability. You didn't score today, which is rare, but if you asked the defence if you made it so hard for them, they would say "oh yes", you tackled, ran, chased down for almost all the game but u need to stop stroppin' Yo. It dont get you any where, just keep trying and trying, it always turns round if you keep working. Kaysha, you have only been here a little while, but you have been a bresh of fresh air for the team. You work hard, you have loads of ability and, you will get better and better. keep working hard too Kaysha, you've done super. Chloe W the best keeps in the world, safe hands as I think we will start to call her brave, agile and so assertive when she comes for the ball. Yesterday, you was real cool Chloe as you are most games. Tameside's number one (and if your listening Miss. Williams is not going to the academy shes happy at Denton thank you very much :) ). Samantha, your best game today as well, you looked more positive running, beating players, and I want you to go on from this Sam and realise your talent because, you do have lots of it, so the same again next game plz. A little word for Chelsea who has been on her hols. I have said it before, I'm glad Chelsea ain't 6 ft cos I'd be scared to ask her anything. Super defender, never gives up, great feet - both of em, and is a massive part of our super defence which, in my eyes is the best in the league. I hope I've covered all today my digits are killing me now, I'd like to thank Mike, Billy and Vicky from the senior ladies team who for the last few weeks have been coming down to watch you girls play, and support you, and I'm sure will have been impressed with the way we have played. I'm going to go and watch the ladies team more often and some of you should do too. You will benefit from the experience greatly. I'd also like to say well done to the other girls teams the 11s and 12s. I always ask how they have done each week off Nigel, and read the posts. Congrats to Allen and the girls for hopefully getting the treble hopefully like us, I think its fantastic. I know Allen said he thinks his 11's will be the best girls team to play for Denton in the future - that's a very big statement but I'm sure Allen is justified in his comments. All I can say is that if you become as good as the 14s you will be an awesome side and, if you are to be better than us, then you will rule the world lol. Keep working hard girls you can achieve anything with hard work, and I for one hope you do emulate the 14s, it makes Denton even better and from what i hear the 12s are going to be a force too next season, they are coming on strong, and have really started to turn things around thanks to hard work and perseverance from Rick and Amy. I hope you have a great 2008/9 season. I'm gonna come watch when I can. Both teams good luck for the future.

ALAN.

Well girls, what can I say? Totally professional performance against class opposition. You gave it all today, and rightly walked away with 3 very very precious points.

We had several opportunities to score early on before Keely's breath-taking goal with 11 mins played, scoring a thunder shot from just outside the penalty area. Samantha later had a header saved by the goalie, and just failed to connect to a fine cross from Kaysha. Yoyo also nearly hit the onion bag, slicing the ball just wide. Seven minutes into the 2nd half, and Megan got our 2nd, slotting the ball into an almost empty net, after a bit of a scramble in their area.

Poynton at various stages in the game, played some good football, which wasn't surprising, because after all, they were joint top of the league on merit, but after our 2nd, they rolled their sleeves up, and started to put us under a bit of pressure, as they tried to get back into the game. Our defence stood firm, with great clearances by Kayleigh, Sally covering so much area, as usual, with Ruby, throughout the match, playing in midfield, putting in some robust challenges.

Regarding the challenge by Ruby on the Poynton girl, it was certainly fierce, but entirely within the rules of the game, with Ruby sliding in from the side, and not from behind, as was suggested.

The best player for the opposition was no. 5 Rebecca Sadio, who we gave the award to last time. It was difficult, as Poynton do have, like us, a wealth of talented players, but Rebecca just edged it. Jacob officiated the game very well. He knew it was a crunch game, but wasn't fazed by it, and for a official of such a young age, he showed a great deal of knowledge and maturity today. He handled the situation in the 1st half well, when things got a little heated on the touchline. I gave him 9.

Can I also say, well done to Chloe, Lauren, Nic and Sophie, who also put in a sterling effort today, and more than played their part in a fantastic victory.

It's come to my attention today, that one of our players believes she hasn't played well for about 7 games. Hey? What's she talking about? - you have ALL been tremendous since the start of 2008, which is why you are now Champions Elect, with one hurdle to go, that being Deans away; date to be confirmed. So to the player that thinks she's having a bit of a mare (you know who you are), GET REAL! Everyone makes mistakes, but you more than make up for them - EVERY game.

NIGEL.
