Wythenshawe Ams Mini Tournament - Girls Soccer School

Firstly, a big thank you to Ian of Wythenshawe (WAGS), for arranging this event, and Mark of Oswald Rd., for bring a team to complete the trio.

We played 4 games, and the girls just got better match after match. It was really encouraging to see girls of this age 'asking for the ball', and trying to work for each other, in what was for most, their first ever competitive match.

The tournament was all about having fun and introducing the girls to competitive football, and I think we succeeded on both counts.

At the end of the event, Ian was very kind in giving out medals and certificates to every player, and Georgia, Nicole and Chloe W from the 14's contributed a bag of chocolates also, to send the girls home with happy memories of the day. Read more about the 14's in the next post.

So, well done to Rebecca, Abbie, Holly, Megan, Deana, Analise and Bailey for putting in a great performance and keeping us all entertained. Also, thanks to the parents for the fantastic support you showed on the touchline. Next time we do it (poss Jan 08), any volunteers to make up some banners etc?

Enjoy the pics., though not the best I've taken - if anyone has any better, please get them to me on CD or a Flash Drive that I can borrow to download, and I will post on this blogger. Also, I've posted the video on YouTube (link right hand side of blogger). Again, quality is poor, so any contributions greatly received.

Nigel.
