Rochdale 2 Denton Town 1 (u11's)
Absolutely brilliant today. Can't fault any of you. Tiarna's throw-ins were world class, resulting in our goal. Everyone put it in, which was hard because Rochdale are a very good side, and we had no subs. Don't forget, in the last 4 games, they have scored 57 goals against us, and today, just 2, and lets be honest, we could of won. Well done to Emily for getting player of the match, and I believe you all got a standing ovation at the end, which you more than deserved.
Difference today, you listened, cleared your lines when under pressure, held your positions better, didn't moan (too much), worked for and encoraged each other, and starting to get the idea of where to stand when waiting to receive the ball, like from throw-ins etc. You also took on board how to defend corners - miles better than the Heyside match the other week.
So well done! - me and Amy are thrilled to bits, and you've done us proud. Thanks to all the parents as well, for you magnificent support today. Pity about the incident when Tiarna got injured - I thought their reaction when I was there and after I left was over the top. The league need to monitor these sort of situations to see if a pattern emerges with certain teams.
